About Us
MISSION STATEMENTSafe Lawns has been developed out of concern for our environment and the safety of people and pets that come into contact with the lawn. It is the purpose of Safe Lawns to provide alternatives to synthetic inorganic treatments, build soil sustainability and lessen the amount of chemical ruoff that damages waterways, drinking water and soil from the use of inorganic products. Safe Lawns wants to work with central Ohio to provide a safer environment for all.
Bio of Ron Howell, Owner and Operator
Ron Howell, the owner and operator of Safe Lawns has been working in the green industry since 1970. He owned a tree and landscape service for 34 years. Ron is a certified arborist and trained and certified in organic and compost production, with five plus years of education in organics and soil sciences. He is well known in the central Ohio area for his expertise in the diagnosis of tree and plant diseases and insect problems. He has also paved the way for the use of organic treatments of trees and shrubs. He has given numerous presentations to garden clubs, Ohio State University and the Urban Foresters of the State of Ohio sponsored educational programs, and city developed workshops for their residents.
Ron Howell has participated on organic trials of compost tea, tree injections for Emerald 'Ash Borer and tree health. He has ongoing trials with lawn and seed establishment through organics. With the positive results of these studies Mr. Howell is totally convinced that organics is the best way to treat our lawns and trees and shrubs. Thus SAFELAWNS Organic Lawn Care is born with the goal of offering Safe Lawn services and products to all interested in a healthy environment for people and pets.
